Havana&Co., an Italian brand present on the menswear market since 1994 and part of the Toma Italian Brands group , celebrates sustainable craftsmanship.
HAVANAECO is born , a capsule of contemporary garments characterized by clean silhouettes and meticulous attention to detail. Strictly Made in Puglia, the garments are made with pure wool and cotton subjected to processes with reduced waste of raw materials. Thus traditional processes are combined with dyes and prints made by hand with natural powders derived from plants and shrubs typical of the Mediterranean scrub, all in compliance with the paradigm of green production.
The craftsman is the artist of a unique work made with refined raw materials and with slow development times far from the schemes of industrial ideology.
“Puglia and its craftsmen confirm themselves as a source of energy and inspiration for our projects” says Sergio Toma, founder together with his brother Salvatore of the Toma Italian Brands group , who with this project decided to create garments with enveloping, timeless lines, shunning the concept of seasonality, in a winning mix of craftsmanship, sustainability, innovation and design.
All those values that hark back to artisan tradition are the solid foundation of this project and are best expressed in RE CARDIGAN , a unique piece made with 100% organic regenerated yarns from old unmade sweaters that in the expert hands of Apulian knitters acquire new life in a timeless dimension.
“This is just one of the steps that we, as Toma Italian Brands, are taking to minimize the impact on the environment and tell the story of a territory that has a potential that is yet to be explored,” says Verdiana Toma, the fourth generation in the company. “We have also activated a research doctorate with the Ionian Department of UNI BA, driven by the common goal of generating sustainable practices that are applicable and measurable in the fashion sector.”
Since its inception, Havana&Co. and the entire group, which has also been a licensee of the French brand Ungaro menswear since 2020 and with other negotiations in the pipeline, have always chosen Made in Italy as the characterizing element of their projects, despite trends that in the past have tended to relocate production abroad. “Today it is therefore natural for us to take a further step in this direction,” says Salvatore Toma, strategic guide of the group. “Our goal is to share value with the territory by looking to the future of our sector in an innovative and sustainable way, treasuring the wisdom of the past.”
Quality prevails over quantity, HAVANAECO is a limited production available exclusively online.
